The Foundation's first Annual Lecture was delivered on November 3, 2003 in Mumbai, India by Professor Joachim von Braun, Director General, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Washington, D.C. on "Emerging Risks and Opportunities for Global and Regional Agriculture and Food Security, and Implications for Policy" |

The Foundation is also actively engaged in distributing improved hybrid rice germplasm from IRRI to the public and private research organizations so as to promote hybrid rice technology and increase rice production in the country. So far, more than 30 Organizations have been benefited from this service. |

Since 1998, the Foundation is regularly conducting Training Workshop on "Applications of MAS in Rice Breeding" so as to create awareness among rice scientists on the application of new tools to improve their breeding program. So far, five training workshops have been conducted and more than 35 scientists from public and private organizations have been trained on MAS. |

Foundation organized VIII National Rice Biotechnology Network (NRBN) meeting during 2001 in collaboration with DRR and DBT. |

To support and promote hybrid rice research programs in India, Foundation contributed Rs. 3.0 crores (Rupees three crores only) to Directorate of Rice Research (ICAR). |

The Foundation has high throughput lab and a huge research farm to undertake the in-house research. With 15 research staff on board in addition to other administrative staff, we have good capacity to develop and deliver the product and technology. The Foundation has been undertaking the training of various scientists and personnel under its' human resource development schemes. The following are the personnel trained with us. |
