IX Mas Training/Workshop held from 10-14 August, 2009

Barwale Foundation conducted its IX Training/Workshop on "Phenotyping strategies and marker-assisted breeding for biotic and abiotic stress resistance in rice" at from 10-14 August 2009 at Hyderabad, India. A total of 24 participants attended the workshop of which 21 were from private sector and 3 from public sector. This year's training program laid more emphasis on the different techniques of phenotyping and so being more field oriented, the training was conducted at the Barwale Foundation Research Farm so that the participants get a hands on training on the different techniques involved. The program was organized with a different theme each day including a full day exposure with the lab techniques. The participants actively participated in the deliberations and freely expressed their views on the workshop.
